PITTSBURGH — Today, the jury deciding the fate of the man found guilty of killing 11 Jewish worshippers at the Tree of Life synagogue building imposed the death sentence.

PHILADELPHIA - Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced today that he will continue the moratorium on executions established by his predecessor, Tom Wolf. Shapiro also urged the Pennsylvania General Assembly to repeal capital punishment.

PHILADELPHIA — The American Civil Liberties Union and the ACLU of Pennsylvania filed a friend-of-the-court brief today asking the state Supreme Court to hold Pennsylvania’s capital punishment system in violation of the state constitution, given the vast disparities across the commonwealth.
