HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania House of Representatives today passed legislation requiring insurance companies to cover contraception, at no cost to consumers.

PHILADELPHIA - Anti-abortion activists who sued the city of Philadelphia and Abortion Liberation Fund of Pennsylvania (ALF-PA) over a $500,000 donation that the city made to ALF-PA are dropping their lawsuit.

In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court struck down a Louisiana law meant to shut down abortion clinics. The decision comes four years after the court struck down a nearly identical law in Texas, which had shuttered half of the state’s abortion clinics in a few short years.

HARRISBURG - The Pennsylvania Senate passed legislation today that creates a new crime of performing an abortion if the person is terminating the pregnancy due to a fetal diagnosis of Down syndrome.
