ACLU-PA Sues U. of Pittsburgh Over Student Group Suspension
The ACLU of Pennsylvania has filed a lawsuit against the University of Pittsburgh over the school's suspension of its Students for Justice in Palestine chapter in apparent retaliation for criticisms that the group made of the university.
The Washington County Court of Common Pleas ruled that the Pennsylvania Constitution requires the county board of elections to inform mail-in voters of any disqualifying errors on their mail-ballot packets when those errors are detected by the board
ACLU-PA and Public Interest Law Center jointly responded to a ruling by the Butler County Court of Common Pleas in its case regarding ‘naked ballots’ and access to provisional ballots. The court ruled against the two voters who brought the case.
The American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania and co-counsel have filed a federal complaint with the Department of Homeland Security Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties over inhumane conditions at the Moshannon Valley Processing Center.
Today, the state Senate unanimously passed House Bill 1466, legislation to expand protection of the First Amendment rights of Pennsylvanians. The bill now heads to the state House for a concurrence vote.
