HARRISBURG, Pa. - As proposed legislative changes to Pennsylvania’s probation system move quickly through the General Assembly, several criminal legal reform advocates spoke out today in opposition to the bill, warning that the revisions will make things harder for many people on probation.

The ACLU of Pennsylvania has filed a lawsuit on behalf of a U.S. Air Force veteran to challenge policies in the county courts in Berks County that prohibit individuals from participating in treatment court programs as long as as they use medical marijuana to treat their serious medical conditions.

PHILADELPHIA - Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro announced today that he will continue the moratorium on executions established by his predecessor, Tom Wolf. Shapiro also urged the Pennsylvania General Assembly to repeal capital punishment.

PHILADELPHIA - Anti-abortion activists who sued the city of Philadelphia and Abortion Liberation Fund of Pennsylvania (ALF-PA) over a $500,000 donation that the city made to ALF-PA are dropping their lawsuit.
