ACLU-PA and the Education Law Center-PA sent a letter of guidance to Pennsylvania school districts and charter schools in response to a U.S. Department of Education threat to cut federal funding to schools that implement policies that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.

PHILADELPHIA – The American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania has settled a lawsuit against the Central Bucks School District over the district’s wrongful suspension of teacher Andrew Burgess in May of 2022.

PHILADELPHIA - In a new filing in federal court, the American Civil Liberties Union of Pennsylvania has accused the Central Bucks School District administration and their specially retained lawyers of misleading the public and even lying about facts in a report released last spring.

HARRISBURG - Pennsylvania’s Independent Regulatory Review Commission today passed a new regulation from the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission defining sex discrimination to include sexual orientation and gender identity.

The ACLU of Pennsylvania filed a complaint today with the United States Department of Justice and the U.S. Department of Education on behalf of seven students in Central Bucks School District who allege a widespread culture of discrimination against TLGBQIA+ students, particularly trans students.

Today, the Senate Education Committee passed legislation to bar transgender girls and women from participating in scholastic sports based on their gender identity.
