What is the Young Leadership Outreach Team (YLOT)?

WHAT IS THE CHALLENGE WE’RE HERE TO ADDRESS?

The average age of a member of the ACLU is 65, yes 65, years old! We know that people in their 20’s and 30’s are often stretched thin, and their time is precious.

However, it is with a strong sense of urgency and gratitude that this team comes together to determine how to deliberately and effectively engage the next generation of ACLU lay leaders and supporters.

WHO ARE WE?

We are a team of ACLU members in our 20’s and 30’s who seek to build the strength of the present and future ACLU in two ways: 1) Individually, we will share our unique assets to further the ACLU’s work on the ground, and 2) Individually and collectively, we will deliberately engage our networks and others to build the presence and power of the ACLU.

WHAT DO WE DO?

Our mission is to involve and engage young supporters who care about important ACLU issues with the organization fighting to protect those values. We aim to provide education and discussion on relevant issues, opportunities for active participation, and the chance to meet other cause-driven people.
