Protecting Immigrants' Rights in PA

Immigrants' rights are under attack not only by Trump and the federal government but locally as well. The ACLU-PA has filed a lawsuit against Pennsylvania State Police for engaging in a “pattern and practice” of illegally targeting and detaining Latinx people traveling in the state for the purpose of investigating their immigration status.

Officials must be held accountable for their unacceptable racial profiling and terrorizing of Latinx communities. Come hear from Vanessa Stine, ACLU-PA immigrants’ rights legal fellow, for more on the ACLU-PA’s efforts to protect immigrants in PA.

We will be joined by Miguel Andrade of Juntos to discuss their new "Interlocking Systems" report which reveals the extent of collaboration between local governments and ICE in the era of the Trump administration.

Art by local artist Manuela Guillén of Lazy Beam Arte will be available for sale and proceeds will be donated to Juntos.

This event is hosted by the Young Leadership Outreach Team (YLOT) of the ACLU of PA. Thank you to El Merkury for providing us with space.

We will provide free Central American street food for the evening. This event is BYOB.
