Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request for correspondence between local law enforcement agencies in Pennsylvania and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) about participation in the 287(g) program

In March 2017, the ACLU of Pennsylvania submitted a Freedom of Information Act request to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), asking for information and documents including any correspondence between ICE and agencies in Pennsylvania about the 287(g) program. 287(g), which is named for the section of the Immigration and Nationality Act that authorizes it, is a cooperation program between ICE and local or state law enforcement that authorizes designated non-federal officials to enforce federal immigration law independent of ICE agents.
