SB 255 | Requiring financial disclosure for write-in candidates

Currently, only candidates who file nominating petitions are subject to removal from the ballot for failure to file financial disclosure documents—candidates placed on the ballot due to a write-in campaign are not.

SB 255 (PN 218) would extend the requirement for filing a statement of financial interests to all candidates who appear on the ballot in a General Election, thereby providing voters increased transparency about candidates running for public office.
