ACLU-PA Position: Opposes
HB 1885 prohibits local governments from implementing policies to limit their interactions with federal immigration authorities. Governments that enact such policies could be punished with a withdrawal of all state funding. They are also held liable for any personal injury crime committed by a person who does not have immigration authorization.
