Veronica Miller joined the ACLU-PA in July 2023 as Senior Policy Counsel for Criminal Legal Reform. She has over 10 years of experience as a practicing attorney. She began her legal career as an assistant public defender in Dauphin County where she represented hundreds of juvenile and adult clients from start to finish on cases ranging from summaries to first-degree murder. After a brief time in private practice, she joined the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts as legal counsel where she advised on matters impacting the statewide case management systems. In the four and half years before coming to the ACLU-PA, Veronica served as the Deputy Chief Counsel to the Senate Democratic Appropriations Committee under the chairmanship of Senator Vincent Hughes.

As Deputy Chief Counsel, she advised on criminal justice and social equity policy issues, drafted numerous pieces of legislation, and managed budget areas related to the Judiciary, Department of State and State Police, among others. Veronica received her law degree from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law in 2012. She was recognized as a Miller Public Interest and Pro Bono Advocate for her public interest legal work during law school and was inducted into the Order of Barristers for achievement as a National Trial Competition regional finalist. She received her undergraduate degree in Philosophy with a concentration in Law & Society from the New Mexico State University in 2007. Veronica spends much of her free time chasing after her two young boys who keep her and her husband very busy. As a family, they enjoy playing and watching sports, snowboarding, listening to music and traveling to new places. (Harrisburg)
