2. Know the Impact of Voting On Our Daily Lives

From Philadelphia to Erie, people all over Pennsylvania rely on government decisions that affect our daily lives. Affordable housing, good schools, and safe roads all depend on the policies made by elected officials. We see this at the state and congressional level, when things like budget decisions determine how our tax dollars are spent on the issues we care about.

Voting is one way we show our government officials how they are doing. We also vote to help make sure our families and communities get the resources they need.

Below are three examples showing how voting can make a visible impact.

3. Know How Our Elections Work

Elections in Pennsylvania safe, secure, and accurate.

The Constitution gives ZERO power to the President to make decisions about our elections. The power to make laws about our elections is assigned to Congress and states. The power to administer our elections is assigned to states and local governments. The decentralization of election management keeps the vote extremely safe from the possibility of tampering. Pennsylvania’s elections are managed by each of the 67 counties across the commonwealth. But how do our elections work?
