Allegheny County 2023 District Attorney Race

In 2023, the ACLU of Pennsylvania sent candidate questionnaires to District Attorney Stephen Zappala and his challenger, Matt Dugan.

The questionnaire asked the candidates to share their position on a number of criminal legal issues including questions regarding Pennsylvania's mass incarceration crisis, holding police accountable, the use of cash bail, the right to an abortion, and more.

Mr. Dugan offered his responses. Mr. Zappala failed to respond. You can find Mr. Dugan's responses below.
