Volunteer

Because the ACLU is a nonprofit organization with limited resources, we rely on volunteers to help in every aspect of our work. The ACLU of Pennsylvania is always looking for volunteers to help respond to complaints, to do routine office tasks, to take legal cases, to write for our newsletters, and to do graphic design, among other things.

Most of our volunteer opportunities are in one of our three offices (Harrisburg, Pittsburgh, and Philadelphia). Some volunteers make a regular weekly commitment to volunteer, others help out at periodic events or public education programs. If you've got some time, fill out our Volunteer Inquiry Form and let us know how you would like to help!

If you'd like to volunteer locally and do not live near one of our offices, visit our chapter page to determine which chapter you belong to. Local chapters help further the mission of the ACLU by alerting the offices about civil liberties violations in their area, by tabling at events, and doing grassroots organizing.

The ACLU of Pennsylvania also offers Internships.
