On Tuesday, November 13, NOVA (PBS) will be airing a documentary on the Dover intelligent design trial (Kitzmiller v. Dover) from 8:00-10:00 p.m. ET. (Confirm the time with your local PBS station.) Judgment Day: Intelligent Design on Trial is an excellent educational opportunity for us and a great way to reach out to other religious and civil liberties supporters across Pennsylvania. Kitzmiller v. Dover was a landmark case for the ACLU and for all advocates of religious liberty. In the hopes of generating more awareness and discussion of this important trial, we encourage you to hold viewing parties in conjunction with the PBS screening for neighbors, friends, co-workers, and interested community members. Below, you will find all the information and materials you need to host a great viewing party: 1) Sign-in sheet (pdf 72k) 2) FAQ on intelligent design and the Dover trial (pdf 75k) 3) Judgment Day - Get involved handout (pdf 60k), and 4) a Judgment Day - Host info sheet that includes a sample party agenda, discussion questions, and sample invitation e-mail (pdf 71k). Please consider hosting a viewing in your area on Nov. 13, or recording the show and holding a viewing sometime in November. If you are interested in hosting and would like to discuss further with a Community Organizer, please contact an ACLU office near you!
