Forum on the War on Drugs

Join the Central Susquehanna Chapter for a forum on the War on Drugs. The featured speaker, Howard Wooldridge, is a former police officer and founder of Law Enforcement Against Prohibition(LEAP), an organization of former law enforcement officers.

The War on Drugs has been described as the most disastrous, dysfunctional, and one of the most immoral public policies since slavery. Let's put our money into strategies that will work, reduce crime, and better protect our communities.

When/Where: Wednesday, September 3, 2008

There will be two sessions covering the same topic.

Session I: 12:30 - 2:00 p. m. , Multi-Purpose Room B,  in
Kehr Union, on the campus of Bloomsburg University.
The tri-level is the best place to park.

Session II: 7:00 - 8:30 p. m. in the banquet room of the Fraternal
Order of the Eagles, Branch 305, at the corner of Third and
Chestnut Streets in Sunbury.

In 2003, Mr. Wooldridge rode on horseback, "Paul Revere" style, from Georgia to Oregon to educate Americans on the failure of modern prohibition. In 2005, he rode from Los Angeles to New York City advocating a public health approach to drugs. Due to his travels on horseback, he was made a Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society.

This public forum is sponsored by the Central Susquehanna Chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
