Can I get birth control even though I'm only 17?Yes. Minors have a right to privacy that includes access to birth control. What if I want to go on the Pill or get another kind of birth control? Can I do that without my parents being told?Yes. Most family planning clinics receive federal funding and by law must keep all information confidential. They can't tell your parents without your permission. You can get birth control for free, or for very little money, at the clinic. My high school wants to start a program where they hand out condoms to students in our health resource centers. Can they do that?Yes. In Pennsylvania, condoms can be distributed at schools if the program is voluntary, parents are told about it ahead of time, and if they can refuse to let their child participate.
