34th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade

Monday, January 22, 2007 marks the 34th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade. To commemorate this occasion, we are offering a variety of ways to reflect on what it means to be pro-choice, the impact of reproductive rights on our lives, and what we want our world to look like in regard to information about and access to reproductive health care.

On Monday, the ACLU of Pennsylvania will have a post called "Why We're Pro-Choice" on its "Speaking Freely" blog. This post explains why the ACLU is a pro-choice organization and provides a space for ACLU of PA staff, volunteers, board members, and members to share their, sometimes more personal, reasons why they're pro-choice. You can read the national ACLU Blog that will feature a week of postings from affiliates around the country.

The national ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project is offering two podcasts that discusses the impact of reproductive rights and their vision for the world we want. One podcasts features ACLU Executive Director Anthony Romero and ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project Director Louise Melling. Another features ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project State Strategies Attorney Sondra Goldschein.

In addition, you can visit the Reproductive Freedom Project's website to read a statement from its Director Louise Melling, link to a discussion guide to get people talking about the impact of reproductive rights in their own lives, find ways to take action and get involved in protecting reproductive rights, and read a federal legislative update for 2007.
